Solar Shield's members have over 50 years experience in solar (and other renewable energy) law, technology, financing and project development.

Together with our finance and engineering partners, we focus on rapid, cost-effective, computer-assisted installation of reliable, top-tier, customized rooftop solar-electric facilities for the over 100,000 potentially-eligible single-family homes and 400,000 housing units in or near the District of Columbia. Our solar facilities typically involve no credit reviews, no purchase cost to homeowners, and no-cost electricity to residents for the power these facilities produce for over 20 years. We also offer energy-efficiency programs that can help cut remaining heat or electricity bills while making home-based solar power go further, and repair/replacement assistance for roofs that otherwise would not qualify for a silent, climate-friendly solar facility.

Our partners have designed, installed, warrantied and now monitor and maintain over 20,000 residential rooftop solar facilities in multiple states. We facilitate their installations in the DC metropolitan area, helping ensure top quality and customer satisfaction across the board.

For nearly two decades Solar Shield's members also have managed for Fortune 500 clients the sale of Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SRECs) generated by solar-electric facilities. SRECs help make no-cost solar possible in the DC metro area. Solar Shield will continue these SREC management activities.
